About
I’m Carly the founder of VIRGO Marketing. The inspiration for my Business came from a group of amazing businesswomen. They were struggling to create a work/life balance and were finding as their businesses grew, so did their sense of overwhelm. They would reach out to me for advice and support for areas in their business they lacked confidence. They often had the skills, but in many instances didn’t have the time to focus.
During the pandemic the added pressure of home schooling, meant their career goals at times, had to take a back seat. This motivated me to look at how I could help them stay on track, it also allowed me to keep myself sane during lockdown. After an exciting and much needed post lockdown breakfast date, I found I had my first client and the encouragement to find more. Since then I have taken on more clients offering a variety of services that enable them to level up their businesses and recognise their achievements.
Background
I have worked for over 15 years in the Corporate world for luxury automotive and lifestyle brands. Through this I have learnt the importance of customer service, the customer journey and upholding the values of high end brands.
My proudest career moment was having my marketing event, shown as an example of U.K. best practice at our overseas head office.
I feel passionately about brand identity and making sure all the incredible training and tools I have picked up along the way can help to enhance my clients businesses.
Facts
I have a degree in English Literature, and love nothing more than the escapism of a good book. I would love to use my writing skills one day to write my own novel.
I am passionate about supporting other women reach their potential. The majority of my working career has been in a male dominated industry, this has led me to seek out strong female role models. I can always rely on Dolly, Cher and Beyoncé to inspire me but, I also love it when women I know succeed.
I have become obsessed with podcasts, my favourites are Casefile, Katherine Ryan - Telling Everybody Everything and anything related to social issues and true crime. I will forever mourn the loss of The High Low, with Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes.
Virgo
Why Virgo? I am fascinated by astrology and after reading my birth chart I found myself realising that many of my personality traits were connected to Virgo. When thinking of an identity for my business, the connection between these traits and the attributes essential for my clients were often the same.
Traits:
Fastidious, analytical, detail orientated, creative, objective, communicator and organised.
Virgo is also the only female symbol within the zodiac, and as I work predominantly with female business owners this felt like an obvious choice.
So whether you believe in the stars or not, we can all agree that , when running a business it’s best not to leave anything to chance.
